I often remind myself of Samuel Johnson's lines: “How small, of all that human hearts endure,/

That part which laws or kings can cause or cure./ Still to ourselves in every place consign'd,/

Our own felicity we make or find.” The same is true of our own sins. We can't blame the Democrats or the Republicans or Twitter or the mainstream media or Trump or Biden or Big Eva. Our daily lives are filled with acts of faith or unbelief, obedience or disobedience, love or malice or indifference. Thank the Lord that He is always with us, His grace is sufficient, and He welcomes the repentant sinner.

"The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either – but right through every human heart…even within hearts overwhelmed by evil, one small bridgehead of good is retained. And even in the best of all hearts, there remains…an uprooted small corner of evil." -Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

" This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should except it: "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners" -and I am the worst of them all. But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of His great patience with even the worst sinners. "

1 Timothy 1:15-17

Theologically accurate as ever - we can all see this (if we are honest) in our own lives. Thank you as always!

While Grace reins in a Believer, lust still has foothold and can cause great damage to a person’s spiritual life. All advertisers attempt to draw out a person’s lust to sell their products or services. It is only by the Spirit through regular meditation on the Word, prayer and close fellowship that a person is able to overcome the glitz and subduction of adversity. Fortunately he that is in us is greater then all external influences.

“The incremental nature of sin...” I’ve never thought of it that way, and considering that daily habits are formed over time, it makes sense. Great read!
